This module is delivered using blended learning, and it is important that you engage fully with all classes, materials and activities as they are designed to work together coherently to support your learning.  Your classes will consist of a combination of ten activities equivalent to a two-hour lecture and five fortnightly, one-hour tutorials, all of which take place within the context of the structured materials provided on Moodle.
Each week you will have a large group session of 2 hours duration.
You will also be allocated to a tutorial group taking place every two weeks during term time (excluding reading week). These will take place on campus and be interactive. You are expected to complete all required reading or activities set by your tutor in advance of your tutorial sessions. Please be aware that as tutorials begin in the first week of term, some groups will not have had their first lecture, but this should not present a problem as lecture content is only a part of preparing for tutorials. Tutorial sessions provide a forum for exploration of issues, analysis, and critical debate, and for airing issues arising from the current state of the law.  Active student participation and involvement is important. You will be expected to prepare fully for tutorials and to participate actively in the discussion. You may also be asked on occasion to make a presentation and/or to lead the discussion. 
All classes will be supported by structured online materials which provide a range of relevant reading, links and other activities for you to complete before, at, and after classes. You will be expected to engage fully with these materials and activities, to ensure that you are fully prepared for classes, and that you fully understand all the topics being covered. 
Your tutors will be available to provide additional academic support on the module normally through scheduled Feedback and Support hours which may be face-to-face, online or by telephone.
