Oncology of the tumours that arise from these systems / structures to include relevant epidemiology, aetiology, physiological signs and symptoms, clinical investigations and diagnostic procedures, histology, routes of spread and staging and grading.

Feedback is provided in a number of ways throughout your module. This includes feedback you receive during teaching from both peers and lecturers and that provided for formative assessment. Following an assessment, you will be given your marks and feedback in line with the assessment regulations and policy. You will learn through interactive lectures and seminars during which you will develop your knowledge and understanding of the anatomy, physiology, and oncology for each system.  
 
You will engage with case-based learning to develop your analytic, communicative, and collaborative skills. You will undertake scheduled guided independent study where you will engage with case-based learning activity packs that reflect ‘real life’ and society diversity to promote authentic learning. This ‘flipped’ approach will enable you to engage with online learning resources and then attend interactive seminars where you will benefit from the opportunity for discussions and group work exploring key issues relating theory to practice.  
 
In addition, there are practical workshop sessions using the radiotherapy treatment planning system where you can apply your learning and practice outlining anatomy on cross-sectional CT scans. 
 
To further augment your learning, you are encouraged to participate in self-directed study including reading around the subject and note taking.  
 
This module’s contact hours will be delivered using several different approaches.  
As an example, you may have a combination of in-person sessions (i.e., face to face on campus), and / or online synchronous sessions (participants are engaged at the same time online) and online asynchronous guided activities (you need to plan time to engage with these, so you are prepared for the in person and synchronous sessions. These may include viewing recorded lectures and/or other online resources, reading materials, undertaking quizzes, completing exercises, and chatting on forums.)  
 
Lectures – The focus will be on helping you to feel confident in developing your understanding of complex knowledge required for you to competently practice during your clinical placement and point you to significant areas for further study to deepen your understanding. 
 
Seminars – These sessions will provide you with the opportunity to work in small groups and encourage you to apply theory to practice to develop a deep and systematic understanding of the module subject matter. The aim for your learning will be for you to enhance your communication skills and challenge your powers of reasoning.  
 
Guided Independent Study – During the module you will have time allocated to undertake set activities individually or in study groups. These activities may form part of the formative assessment strategy to help you to complete the summative module assessment or may be set tasks which you should complete prior to attendance at a taught session. In addition, there are self-directed study hours allocated for you to pursue your own independent lines of inquiry.  
 
Self-Directed Learning – You may also use some of the additional study time to explore areas of interest, practise skills and prepare for assessments. Whilst this time counts towards the theoretical hours for the module, it will be up to you to decide exactly how you spend this time and which areas of learning you wish to pursue; this will encourage you to foster an independent and autonomous attitude towards your studies.   
 
Simulated Practice – These will enable you to consolidate material taught in the lectures, facilitate the acquisition of manual and team skills, and provide opportunities for you to use conceptual knowledge and cognitive processes.

Respect how lifestyle choices impact on health in relation to oncogenesis.
