<li>Lectures are delivered by experienced specialists from banking and technology backgrounds including practitioners such as founders, CMOs, CTOs, VCs, angels &amp; others. </li>

Contact hours are designed to be flexible and are delivered using a variety of methods to help you learn in the most effective way. A proportion of the core content may be delivered online and additional support materials and content will also be made available through Moodle.

Fintech: Financial Services in the Digital Age

Interact with Fintech practitioners, and understand the industry jargon and priorities.  

Values and attitudes

Analyse the effects on the market of normalization of the interest rate cycle, the strengthening US dollar and other developed market currencies, as well as the competitive imperative of data collection/analysis, machine learning and AI.  

Skills

Evaluate the evolving digital strategy of the SIFIs; IE: Barclays, Goldman, JPMorgan.  Consider how consumer investment behaviour will evolve, with reference tothe effects of ‘The Four’ (platforms) and the appetite of Gen X and Z, willing to experiment with different providers and suspicious of legacy providers.    

Knowledge

Assess the unintended consequences of exponential technological transformation while regulatory environment focus remains in the post-08 GFC environment 

Review the regulatory environment and technical pressures on FIs margins, and the requirements of business divisions; consumer, wealth, SME, corporate/investment banking, payments and trade finance.  

Appreciate the intensity of the international competition to attract the most diverse ecosystem and innovators to their fintech centers.  

Discuss and analyse the structural impediments precluding analog Financial Institutions (FIs) from competing in dynamic digital services.
