This module explores the relationship between history and digital information in a variety of contexts. You will examine how digital technology and the web are used to present historical documents and research findings; you will reflect on the promises and the perils of digital platforms in preserving and accessing historical records; and you will discuss how primary sources originating in digital culture can be used by historians.

Feedback is provided in a number of ways throughout your module. This includes feedback you receive during teaching from both peers and lecturers and that provided for formative assessment. Following an assessment, you will be given your marks and feedback in line with the assessment regulations and policy. You will learn through weekly interactive sessions seminars with a strong emphasis on your personal contribution. This learning process is supported by the use of a wide range of online sources. 
You are expected to undertake extensive independent practice in order to: (1) understand the topics covered in the module; (2) broaden and deepen your knowledge of the subject; (3) participate actively in the class discussions. You will receive feedback on your coursework to encourage you to reflect on what you have produced and how you can improve.
