The module is organized in an interdisciplinary fashion, applying historical and social scientific lenses as appropriate. You will consider the role of political leaders alongside that of broader social movements, and you will place developments within China in a broader regional and global context.

The History and Politics of Modern China

Acquire an interdisciplinary understanding of the political, social, economic, and cultural factors that influenced China's historical and contemporary transformations, and how they relate to regional and global issues and trends.
