The module will consist of the following: 
Career Impact workshops and activities covering three linked, critical areas, which act in combination to support well informed career decisions: strategic career management, leadership development and leadership communication, to develop professional impact and performance, and enhance your employability.
The Business Integration Project: The Business Integration Project is an individual piece of work which aims to develop your research skills and put your knowledge of theory and professional skills into practice usually in the context of a company or sector of your choice. It is a major piece of largely self-managed business analysis, taken over several months. You will be assigned an academic advisor to supervise your work. Business Integration Projects are subject to a word length of 6,000 words and may be of four principal types:  
<ul><li>Consultancy: aims to resolve a client issue, uses primary data, and offers commercial benefits to a client </li></ul>
<ul><li>Desk research: aims to resolve a managerial or commercial issue, uses primary and/or secondary data, and offers commercial benefits to a sector </li></ul>
<ul><li>Case: aims to develop a comprehensive description and diagnosis of an organisation or sector </li></ul>
<ul><li>Business plan: in case that you are interested in starting your own venture or growing an existing one. </li></ul>
You must undertake individual Business Integration Projects. Group projects (maximum two students) are permitted in exceptional circumstances, following approval by the Course Director.  Where a joint project is permitted, you will normally be required to submit an individual write-up for the award of the MBA - word length 6,000 words.  Under exceptional circumstances, a single write-up may be permitted - the required length is 12,000 words.

Feedback is provided in a number of ways throughout your module. This includes feedback you receive during teaching from both peers and lecturers and that provided for formative assessment. Following an assessment, you will be given your marks and feedback in line with the assessment regulations and policy. The module will be run over the period of your programme. Career Impact is completed in the first six months and mainly consists of live, in-person online and on campus workshops delivered in whole class or smaller group sessions ranging from half a day to two days. Sessions are highly experiential. You will be required to prepare for each workshop and there will be around 40 contact hours. 
 
For the Business Integration Project, resources and online sessions will be delivered, to offer essential training in methodology, key research methods, data collection and analysis and final report preparation. You will also receive a Business Integration Project Handbook offering guidance and advice on all aspects of formulating and conducting research under supervision. Finally, you will receive personalised online academic supervision.  
 
Once you have begun your Business Integration Project work, your project supervisor will be your first line of contact on most issues, including the resolution of conceptual, methodological and practical issues. The project is primarily an exercise in individual study. The supervisor will expect to hear reports on your progress and will of course offer constructive criticism on your work and offer guidance. 
 
You are strongly encouraged to seek the guidance of your supervisor on a regular basis. At these meetings you should clearly update your supervisor on your progress as well as discuss any concerns that you might have. Since your supervisor is there to mentor you through the process you should take careful notes of your meetings as well as take any necessary actions based upon the guidance provided.

Analyse a sector or specific corporation drawing on empirical data and use evidence systematically to support a central argument. 

Appraise your leadership, employability skills and range of competence against appropriate tools (e.g., MBA Leadership Framework, performance reports, 360 feedback) in order to confirm capability levels and define career and personal development plans.
